Regarding the media coverage of “Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Vlogs, Talks About Being Wronged and Army Trivia”, the Marine Corps Command has stated today (18th) that staff sergeant Yang, who was a member of the Landing Chariot Brigade, published false statements on YouTube due to the fact that he punched operation manager captain Guo when the former was appointed as the patrol officer for military dependents’ villages on March 19th last year (2018), which was a personal misconduct, and staff sergeant Yang was brought to justice for it; the case was handed to the Taiwan Ciaotou District Court for trial, and Sergeant Yang’s behavior was confirmed to be “Violent Behavior Towards Superiors” on January 31st this year (2019), who was then sentenced to 3 months of imprisonment, or a penalty of NTD $1000 per sentence day.

The Marine Corps Command further stated that this case has been transferred to the judiciary according to the administrative principle, and has emphasized that the disgruntled revenge narrated by staff sergeant Yang is not the truth after investigation, hence the command accepts such judicial decision; in addition, the command will convene a personnel evaluation on February 13th to sentence staff sergeant Yang with the punishment of “dismissal”, and then conform to the “Act of Punishment of the Armed Forces”, “Information and Communication Security Reward and Punishment Regulations of the Armed Forces”, and “Administrative Punishment Standard Table of Violating Confidentiality for Armed Forces Personnel” to sentence appropriate punishment to staff sergeant Yang for his unapproved publishing or comment of personally known military affairs on an online social platform.
